- validation - validate child ticket ids, custom fields
- permissions - checl user roles before allowing linking, adding or updating meta
- dynamic field handling - use js to let users add unlimited custom fields or add predefined fields
- prevent circular references - to prevent a ticket from beings its own ancestor
- performance - with larger datasets add indexes and pagination logic
